Guest of Honor
We are honored to announce that JR Richardson will be this year’s Guest of Honor!
JR has been actively involved with UNC Bands for over 33 years and currently serves as a staff member, coordinating the alto sax and mellophone sections. He also represents UNC Bands as a gameday ambassador, connecting with visiting bands in Kenan Stadium.
JR has traveled extensively with the band, and feels extremely honored to have had the opportunity to travel to Dublin, Ireland in August for the 2026 Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
We are sure everyone has a JR story, but of course, he will ask if you have video proof. We hope you will join us this Alumni Reunion Weekend as we honor JR for his relentless dedication to supporting UNC Bands.
Friday Night Social
November 13 | 7–9 p.m. | Steel String Brewery (106A S Greensboro St., Carrboro, NC 27510)
Join us as we kickoff the 2026 UNC Bands Alumni Reunion Weekend with a casual social at Steel String Brewery!
- If you’d like to attend the Friday Night Social, tickets can be added to your registration for an additional $10. Guests are more than welcome to join!
- Your registration includes food. Alcohol will be available for purchase.
- This event is open to everyone, but those planning to drink alcohol must show their ID at the bar.
Saturday pre-game meal / Gameday
November 14
Whether you want to relive your days of performing with the Pride of the ACC or relax and catch up with old friends, the Saturday gameday experience will be memorable for everyone.
- We will host our pre-game meal at Lenoir Dining Hall, where you can relax in a climate-controlled environment and catch up with fellow alumni. Guest tickets for the pre-game meal are $20 and can be purchased through the registration page.
- Package options:
- Performer: Includes the typical gameday experience and the opportunity to perform with the Marching Tar Heels during pre-game and in the stands
- Non-Performer: Includes access to the Saturday pre-game meal and the opportunity to purchase guest football and Saturday pre-game meal tickets
- Please note: You must purchase either a performer or non-performer package to have access to purchase football tickets and other add-on items.
- Official schedules will be released closer to gameday.

Performer package registration closes on October 16; full registration closes on November 2.
Event times are TBD and will be announced once the game kickoff time becomes available.
You will receive football tickets and your quarter zip when you check in either at the Indoor Practice Facility or Lenoir Dining Hall (time TBD).
Performers: The UNCBAA quarter zip is your gameday uniform. You can purchase one on the registration page if you don’t already have one. We ask that you wear the UNCBAA quarter zip over your clothing during any combined performance times (dependent on the weather). YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PERFORM WITHOUT ONE. Non-Performers: Your best Carolina gear! Go Heels!
Attendees are responsible for their own parking. Check out UNC’s gameday parking information to learn more.
All football tickets for non-performers and guests will be in Section 212. If you purchase football tickets and want to be seated next to another registrant, please email bands@alumni.unc.edu with the primary registrant from each party.
We will not be joining the Carolina Alumni Association for their tailgate this year and will instead host a pre-game meal at Lenoir Dining Hall where you can relax in a climate-controlled environment as you catch up with fellow alumni. Guest tickets for the pre-game meal are $20 and can be purchased through the registration page.
